Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Occasional optional overtime may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients in a 23-bed unit, managing patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Perform procedures including PIV insertion, feeding tube insertion, lab draws, straight catheterization, and central line management
• Provide airway and respiratory management in conjunction with the Rapid Response Team (RRT), including use of Drager vents, oscillators, bubble/vent CPAPs, and NIPPV
• Assist RRT and providers with intubation, surfactant administration, central line placement, and chest tube placement
• Document patient care using Centricity Perinatal and Meditech systems
• Willingness to take standby/call during low census periods is highly preferred; occasional optional float to mother-baby as a tech if desired

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license applicable to the state of Tennessee
• Minimum of one year of NICU nursing experience required; Level III or IV NICU experience required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• STABLE certification required
• Proficiency with equipment including Giraffe Omnibed, Panda warmer, Alaris IV pump, syringe feeding pump, and neo-T resuscitator

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Two or more years of NICU nursing experience
• Experience with Centricity Perinatal and/or Meditech documentation systems
• Comfort with variable weekend scheduling and standby/call availability during low census
