Registered Nurse – NICU (Night Shift)

Location: UConn John Dempsey Hospital – Farmington, CT
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: January 12, 2026
Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Required an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week night-shift assignment in a Level III NICU. This unit provides care to high-acuity newborns in a 30-bed facility. Candidates must have at least 3 years of NICU experience and strong clinical competency in Level III neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU
• Manage assignments with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3
• Collaborate with physicians, neonatal specialists, and interdisciplinary team
• Complete documentation accurately using Epic (required)
• Follow infection control and hospital policies
• Work rotating every other weekend
• Participate in mandation blocks (up to 4 hours, if required)
