Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients in a 4–8 bed unit, maintaining patient ratios of typically 3:1 or less depending on acuity and census
Perform IV starts, lab draws, and medication administration
Maintain UVC/UAC lines and assist providers with intubation, chest tube placement, umbilical line placement, and circumcision
Conduct thorough patient assessments and operate specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, Medfusion pumps, giraffe beds, panda warmers, traditional ventilators, and phototherapy lights
Document patient care accurately using Centricity Perinatal and Meditech Expanse EMR systems
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience in a hospital setting
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Kentucky required at time of submission
Current BLS certification required
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
STABLE certification
Experience as part of a delivery team
