Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Option for 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30, no call) or 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30, with a minimum of one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation and above, including those with diagnoses such as HIE, RDS, sepsis, abdominal wall defects, diaphragmatic hernia, myelomeningocele, drug exposure/withdrawal, and related conditions
  • Perform and assist with specialized procedures including full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy management, Avastin administration, and laser eye surgery support
  • Operate specialized NICU equipment including Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Arctic Sun, Blanketrol, Alaris pumps, and dual incubators
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC EMR
  • Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed based on census demands, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
  • Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience (first-time travelers not accepted at this time)
  • Minimum of 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with Pyxis or Omnicell medication dispensing systems
  • Experience with high-acuity neonatal diagnoses including surgical anomalies and complex respiratory management
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
