Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, recognizing normal parameters and deviations in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status.
Develop person-centered care plans, prioritizing nursing care to meet patient and family needs, including involvement of patients and families in establishing care goals.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions, prioritizing planned and unplanned events, and proactively addressing potential and actual problems.
Implement technical skills required for patient and family care while maintaining current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and standards, serving as a resource to peers.
Facilitate collaboration across the healthcare team, linking patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Postpartum nursing experience required; must be able to independently care for mother/baby couplets.
Experience in NICU nursing.
Ability to practice within the scope of governing bodies applicable to Maternal Child Health (AWHONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
Strong critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience in a Maternal Child Health setting.
Demonstrated ability to function as a resource and mentor to nursing peers.
