Job Title

Travel RN – NICU

Location

Ogden, Utah

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 shifts per week, 72 hours per pay period | 8-week assignment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU with a 17-bed unit (capacity to 22 beds), maintaining patient ratios of 1:3 for feeder/grower patients and 1:2 for higher acuity patients
  • Perform all neonatal-specific cares including Neonatal Abstinence Scoring, hypoglycemia management, and IV placement
  • Assist physicians with bedside procedures including intubation, central line placement, and chest tube placement; participate in emergency code response
  • Operate and monitor unit equipment including ventilators, cardiorespiratory monitors, Vapotherm, CPAP, and IV systems; document using Meditech and paper flow sheets
  • Communicate effectively with families during stressful hospitalizations, narrate care, and keep parents informed of patient status
  • Report changes in patient condition to physicians and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including NNPs, Board Certified Neonatologists, NICU RT, and Charge RN
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license
  • BLS certification required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • STABLE certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of NICU experience, including Level III NICU experience; new graduates will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with neonatal abstinence scoring and hypoglycemia management protocols
  • Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
  • Demonstrated ability to support and communicate with families in high-stress clinical environments
