RN – NICU (Registered Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, providing nursing care for health problems ranging from simple to complex.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations, and intervene as necessary.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Interact with patients and families to communicate the care plan during hospitalization and at discharge, including referrals to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff and assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Oklahoma RN license or current multistate compact RN license.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • NRP certification (American Heart Association).
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
