Provide specialized nursing care for late preterm infants (35 weeks and beyond) and newborns with health complications in a Level 1B NICU/Continuing Care Nursery setting
Monitor and manage infants requiring respiratory support, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (NC) and oxygen therapy
Implement ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) protocols for infants exposed to opioids in utero
Manage blood sugar stabilization and care for infants with Transient Tachypnea (TTN)
Operate and monitor specialized NICU equipment including cardiopulmonary monitors, radiant warming units, isolettes, IV infusion pumps, and LED phototherapy lights
Maintain a patient care ratio of 3:1 within a 4-bed unit
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of current NICU experience at a Level 1B or higher
Active Massachusetts RN License
Active BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Demonstrated experience with ESC protocol, TTN management, blood sugar stabilization, respiratory support, and High Flow Nasal Cannula
Current NICU Skills Checklist (within the past year) and one supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required at submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU or continuing care nursery environment
