Provide direct nursing care to preterm and term neonates in a 6-bed NICU (5 open bays, 1 isolation room) with a 1:2–3 patient ratio
Perform and assist with procedures including newborn resuscitation, intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, chest tube insertion, and NG/OG feedings
Manage ventilator support, CPAP, UVC placement, and administration of TPN and lipids for critically ill neonates
Conduct IV insertions in preterm and term infants and perform ongoing assessment for signs of declining health
Provide breastfeeding support and maintain patient experience standards including courtesy, respect, and AIDET communication framework
Document accurately using Meditech and Centricity Perinatal; participate in unit huddles and adhere to weekend scheduling requirements (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure
Current BLS certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience
Demonstrated ability to perform IV insertion in preterm and term infants
Strong independent assessment skills with knowledge of deterioration indicators in preterm neonates
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with GE 650 monitors, syringe pumps, IV pumps, bili-lights, and Medela breast pumps
Familiarity with Meditech and/or Centricity Perinatal documentation systems
Experience providing breastfeeding education and support to NICU families
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with multidisciplinary care teams
