Provide direct nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates in a 32-bed Level III or greater NICU, with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
Manage respiratory support modalities including CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and mechanical ventilation using equipment such as CareFusion Oscillator, Getinge (Servo) Ventilator, and Fisher & Paykel Bubble CPAP
Maintain and monitor umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, and central lines; administer TPN/lipids, IV medications, and neonatal drips via Alaris pumps
Perform neonatal assessment, stabilization, and early recognition of clinical deterioration, including resuscitation, surfactant administration, and phototherapy management
Collaborate with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver family-centered care
Provide discharge planning and caregiver education; may float to the well-baby nursery as needed; document all care using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
Current, active RN license valid for practice in Utah
Minimum 2 years of recent Level III or greater NICU experience
Required certifications: NRP, BLS, and S.T.A.B.L.E.
Demonstrated competency in CPAP, HFNC, and mechanical ventilation management
Experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, central line management, and administration of parenteral nutrition and neonatal drips
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a Level IV NICU or regional referral NICU, including care of micro-preemies (<28 weeks gestation) and extremely low birth weight infants
Experience with high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV) and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) protocols and care of infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
Experience assisting with and providing post-procedure care following PICC insertion, chest tube placement, and other neonatal procedures
