    Travel RN – NICU

    Location

    San Antonio, TX

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Full-Time | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned NICU patients.
    • Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
    • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
    • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
    • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
    • Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
    • Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
    • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
    • Current STABLE (Post-Resuscitation/Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor).
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU or related nursing specialty.
    • Ability to complete new hire orientation and designated organizational entry competency validation within required timeframes.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience highly preferred.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Recent experience in a perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program preferred.
