Contract | 3x12-Hour Rotating Shifts (Days/Nights) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, true Level IV NICU environment with patient ratios of 1:1 and 2:1
Manage care for surgical neonates, including fluid management, fresh trachs, cooling protocols, and multiple modes of ventilation
Monitor patients using telemetry and ventilator support within a fast-paced neonatal intensive care setting
Float as needed to other ICU environments (e.g., PICU, CICU, acute care floors) within scope of practice to meet facility needs
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Participate in on-call rotations as potentially required and work 2 out of 3 holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) over the contract period
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience; first-time travelers must have 3–4 years of Level IV NICU experience with Level IV patient care and float experience, or have completed at least 1–2 Level IV travel assignments
Experience in a true Level IV NICU with high-acuity patients, including surgical neonates
Telemetry and ventilator experience required; must be comfortable with fluid management, fresh trachs, cooling, and modes of ventilation
Active Washington State RN License required prior to start (permanent or temporary license accepted; candidates actively in the process of applying may be considered; compact state licenses accepted pending WA licensure)
BLS certification required
PALS certification required
Local candidates are welcome
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience floating to PICU, CICU, or acute care floors is highly preferred
Minimum of 2 completed travel assignments preferred
Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
Familiarity with Level IV NICU designation and ability to document NICU level of each previously worked facility
