Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Neuro Unit in Atlanta, Georgia. This travel assignment is crucial for supporting our dedicated neurological care team, including managing up to 7 additional overflow beds to ensure continuous, high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to adult patients with a variety of neurological conditions. This role requires a strong foundation in neurological assessment, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic acute care environment.
This is a travel assignment; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on an Acute Neuro unit, including those in overflow beds.
- Perform thorough neurological assessments and monitor changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments, ensuring adherence to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on neurological conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions.
- Respond to emergent situations and provide critical care as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Acute Neuro or Medical Surgical setting.
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia.

- Clinical Skills: Proficient in neurological assessments (e.g., Glasgow Coma Scale, NIH Stroke Scale), stroke protocols, management of post-neurosurgical patients, IV therapy, medication administration, wound care.
- Equipment: Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), vital sign monitors, IV pumps, patient lift equipment.
