Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg specialty. The unit has a capacity of 20 beds and a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts. A unit secretary is present from 7 AM to 7 PM. Equipment on the unit includes IV pumps, telemetry systems, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCAs, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. Communication technology used includes iMobile. Documentation is performed using a specified system. The schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week, with two weekends required in a four-week schedule. Floating policy indicates contract labor is the first to float, with rotation used when multiple staff members are scheduled. Patient experience requirements emphasize the need for attentive and compassionate care. Bedside shift reports are expected, along with the ability to create personal connections with patients and involve them and their family members in their care plans.
