Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have: 1 year Med Surg experience, inpatient only Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Working conditions require standing and walking most of the time on duty. Meets unit specific physical demands. Significant bending, stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance may be required. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week according to patient care requirements. There is a high risk of exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and service standards.
