- Competent in management of dysrhythmias
- Experience in medical-surgical/telemetry nursing
- Proficient with nasal cannula use
- Skills in peripheral line care and management
- Experience in phlebotomy
- Knowledge in pre/post neurosurgery care
- Skills in starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience in tracheostomy care and management
- Familiarity with rapid response/code teams
Description:
The registered nurse will provide care for neurological patients, including those undergoing neurosurgery.
The nurse will handle overflow intermediate patients and manage spine surgery cases.
Care will involve monitoring post-surgical patients and assisting with various neurological interventions.
The candidate is expected to work weekends, with a commitment to complete 8 shifts in six weeks.
Regular floating may be required between departments and units as needed.
The staffing ratios will be maintained at 1:5 for all shifts.
Compliance with all hospital protocols and procedures is necessary for the effective delivery of patient care.
The nurse must have a thorough understanding of patient assessments and documentation processes.
Successful applicants will also need to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Familiarity with electronic charting systems is required for record-keeping.
Strong communication skills are essential for interactions with patients and medical staff.
The role requires the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Flexibility in scheduling is important to accommodate unit needs.
