Description
Job Title: ICU Nurse

Must-Have:
36 months RN experience, with at least one year in an ICU.
One previous successful travel nursing assignment in a facility that utilized a documentation system.
Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients and comfort in managing patients on a ventilator.
Proficient in reading telemetry strips.
Experience with post-operative care and advanced procedures, including CRRT and advanced hemodynamics.
Description:
The traveler will be scheduled according to facility policy.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
The unit has 28 mixed ICU beds with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3/4 for holding inpatient admissions.
Documentation is performed using a mobile computer workstation on wheels.
The staffing consists of RNs, and teamwork is a priority.
Advanced skills needed include CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy.
Nurses administer respiratory treatments for patients outside of the ICU.
Procedures performed on the unit include post-operative CABG care, managing impellas and balloon pumps, and advanced neuro procedures.
Experience with external ventricular drains and induced hypothermia is preferred.
A BSN and advanced certifications are preferred.
The unit is committed to training travelers who wish to specialize in neuro ICU or cardiovascular ICU nursing.
There is also the opportunity to gain experience with head and neck flap procedures.
