Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in acute stroke care, craniotomies, and advanced neurosurgical procedures
• Patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex to 3:1 during high census periods), with an average daily census of 11-12 patients
• Contract length flexible from 13+ weeks up to February 27, 2027
• No call requirement; float requirements apply
• Epic charting system with 24-hour orientation (2 shifts)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, and lift teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU experience does not qualify)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong clinical skills including ventilator management, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, isolation precautions, and lumbar drain experience
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
