Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. No call requirement. Flexibility to float as needed.
Highlights:
Work in a Comprehensive Stroke Center with a diverse patient population including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, and post-neurosurgery patients
Patient ratios typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods with average daily census of 11-12 patients
Utilizes EPIC charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Specialized equipment experience including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
Contract lengths flexible from 13+ weeks with orientation provided (24 hours over 2 shifts)

Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU experience does not qualify)
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Strong clinical skills including ventilator management, IV starts, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE use
Must be comfortable with patient ratios up to 3:1 and floating requirements
Arterial line management experience preferred
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
