Travel Nurse RN - Neuro ICU - $1,983 per week in Charlotte, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Neuro ICU License: NC or Compact License Pending Accepted Certifications: - ACLS - BCLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong Neuro Critical Care Background - Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Neuro ICU Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could potentially result in a cancellation. The unit requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU. First-time travelers will not be accepted. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. The patient population primarily consists of strokes, both ischemic and hemorrhagic. The unit manages conditions such as subdural hematomas, craniotomies, carotid stents, and endarterectomies. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1, but it can flex up to 3:1 during high census situations. Average daily census is 11-12 patients. The unit utilizes equipment such as external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, and various monitoring devices. Nurses will be responsible for managing ventilated patients and administering blood products. Experience with EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management is essential. The unit requires adherence to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Floating may be required within or near the facility. Every other weekend will be part of the work schedule. Nurses must have a strong background in neuro critical care. Only candidates with the required experience and skills will be considered.
