TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro ICU RN in Charlotte, North Carolina, 28204!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Neuro ICU License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong Neuro Critical Care Background Experience managing stroke patients Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional requests for time off could possibly result in cancellation. Minimum work experience of 2 years is required. The unit will not accept first-time travelers. Local candidates will be accepted with a rate difference. Required skills include: Vents, IV Start, Neuro Intensive Care Unit experience, Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Blood product administration, Central line care and management, Continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, External ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, Post-neurosurgery management, Care of ventilated patients, Isolation precautions and use of PPE, Lumbar drain experience. Strong neuro experience is mandatory, with no exceptions. Stroke patients are among the largest patient populations in the unit. Ratios are 2:1 and can flex up to 3:1 during high census situations, Nurses must be comfortable with this flexibility. Average daily census is between 11-12 patients. The unit will accept a contract for 13 weeks. Working hours are from 18:45 to 07:15. RTO requests are limited to 7 days maximum, with some exceptions. No call requirement exists for this position. Floating within the facility is expected. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The patient diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, Subdural hematomas, craniotomies, Carotid stents and endarterectomies, Aneurysm coiling and clipping, seizures, Depth electrodes, and myasthenia gravis. Drains used in the unit include EVDs and lumbar drains. The unit is a comprehensive stroke center and utilizes specialized equipment. Required equipment includes external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring. Candidates must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start. The ideal candidate will have a strong neuro critical care background, not just general ICU experience.
