Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Neuro Intensive Care Unit License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. - Must have RN license in hand before start date. - BSN and CCRN preferred. - First-time travelers accepted. - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. - Charting experience with Cerner. Description: The RN will work in a Neuro ICU setting. This position requires managing care for patients with various neurological conditions. Candidates will be responsible for performing assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The RN will engage in continuous monitoring and provide direct patient care. Strong knowledge of neuro-specific treatments and protocols is necessary. The RN will also be responsible for patient education and support. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to safety protocols are critical aspects of the role. This role includes a patient to nurse ratio of 1:2 during shifts. Weekend shifts are required every other week. The RN will work with a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics. The unit supports various diagnoses, including brain tumors, strokes, and movement disorders. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care. All candidates will be expected to complete required training modules upon hire.
