Must-Have:
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Patient ratio experience: 1:2, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients
- Charting system experience preferred
Description:
The Neuro ICU provides comprehensive critical care for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
Common diagnoses include acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, brain tumors, cerebral edema, hydrocephalus, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, CNS infections, and post-craniotomy care.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and managing intracranial pressure, external ventricular drains, continuous EEG, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
Multidisciplinary collaboration is essential, involving neurology, neurosurgery, neurointerventional radiology, rehabilitation, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy teams.
The unit is equipped with specialized tools such as ICP monitors, external ventricular drains, continuous EEG, and mechanical ventilators.
Flexibility is required for floating within the specialty and covering lower acuity cases as needed.
Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required as scheduled.
