Job Title: Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night rotation, every other weekend Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of Neuro ICU Experience License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA Certifications only) Must-Have: IV Start, Telemetry, Ventilators, Intracranial Pressure Monitoring Description: Position involves providing critical care to patients in the Neuro ICU. Work schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours a week. On-call duties may be required. Expected patient ratio is 1:1-2. Floating to other units of equivalent or lower acuity may be necessary. Candidates must have two years of Neuro ICU experience. Certifications required include BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Skills necessary include IV start, telemetry, and monitoring patients on ventilators. Experience with EHR systems is preferred. Patient population includes individuals with strokes, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, and post-operative neurosurgery. The role requires managing a variety of bedside procedures, including central line placement and EVD monitoring. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills in areas such as care of ventilated patients and monitoring intracranial pressure. The candidate will work within an interdisciplinary team including physical and respiratory therapists, social services, and pharmacy. Professional references will be required upon application.
