TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro ICU RN in Saint Louis, Missouri, 63104!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong neuro skills required Ability to float to ICU, TCU/PCU, and all hospital care areas to care for patients within scope, including ED Experience in care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain management, hypothermia protocol, ICP monitoring, and interpretation of arterial blood gases Description: This position requires two years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. First-time travelers are welcome. Every other weekend shift is expected. Candidates must have experience with Epic charting. Neuro ICU work history is preferred. Familiarity with patient diagnoses such as ischemic/hemorrhagic CVA, cerebral aneurysm, brain tumors, and status epilepticus is required. Successful candidates will manage care for patients undergoing special procedures, including bedside placement of drains and continuous EEG monitoring. Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills are necessary for handling ventilated patients and stroke management. Frequent neuro checks and neurovascular assessments are essential components of patient care. The nursing team collaborates with interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Travelers must complete an OSHA respirator clearance prior to the start of the assignment. It is critical to maintain compliance with fit testing requirements for personal protective equipment. Candidates cannot work as a traveler for more than one year without a six-month break before returning to travel assignments.
