Job Summary The ICU Neuro (Intensive Care Unit Neurological) registered nurse (RN) position is based in an organization committed to excellence in neurocritical care. This role involves caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with neurological diagnoses, including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurosurgical post-op patients, and trauma. Working on an 18-bed dedicated Neuro ICU, the nurse will deliver specialized interventions with a focus on neuro assessments and hemodynamic monitoring.
Job Details
Location: Madison, WI
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays; starting 11/09/2026 through 02/08/2027
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, minimum two years of recent inpatient ICU experience, Epic electronic charting system experience, WI or compact RN license, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ICP or ventriculostomy management, stroke and neuro trauma cases, pass Telemetry test prior to start, and familiarity with adult telemetry rhythms.
Additional Information: The role includes managing arterials, central lines, ventriculostomy drains, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocols, and other neuro intensive care procedures. The nurse must pass specific telemetry assessments with a strict passing score and may be required to float as needed.
