Key Responsibilities of the Travel Neuro ICU Registered Nurse:
- Provide advanced nursing care to patients with neurological injuries, strokes, and post-neurosurgical conditions
- Monitor patients with ICP monitoring, ventilators, and complex hemodynamic support
- Administer medications, including vasoactive drips and sedation, per protocol
- Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
- Assess and document neurological status changes and respond to emergencies promptly
- Maintain meticulous documentation within the EMR system
- Support patient and family education regarding recovery, treatment, and follow-up care
Requirements of the Travel Neuro ICU Registered Nurse:
- Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience in an acute care hospital
- Proficiency in neuro assessment, ventilator management, and critical care monitoring
- Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
