Travel Nurse RN - Neuro ICU - $2,639 per week in Castro Valley, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Neuro ICU License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC preferred Must-Have: Must have Neuro experience, with at least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience reflected on the application. Epic charting system experience is required. Description: Locals accepted within a 50 miles travel requirement, acknowledging a lower bill rate. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The patient ratio is 1 nurse to 2 patients. Candidates should have experience with neuro critical care and trauma patients. The position may require floating to the Emergency Department, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department. The nurse will provide care for patients post-thrombectomy and other surgical procedures requiring frequent neuro checks. Other expected duties include management of ventilated patients, EVD management, ICP monitoring, and administration of emergency medications. Additional responsibilities include interpreting vital signs and lab results, managing IV medications, and adhering to isolation precautions. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Candidates should have an understanding of post-cardiac arrest cooling protocols and blood transfusion management. This is a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork and quick turnaround for patient throughput.
