Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in an intermediate care unit, focusing on neuroscience cases. This position requires a strong foundation in neurology and experience with critical care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care and monitoring of patients with a variety of neurological conditions.
• Manage tasks such as administering medications, including thrombolytics, and handling vasoactive infusions.
• Perform procedures including the management of external ventricular drains (EVDs) and lumbar drains.
• Support post-operative patients and those undergoing acute thrombectomies.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 in the unit.
• Provide support and possibly float to neuro ICU as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts RN license required at the time of submission.
• A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in an intermediate care or critical care setting is required.
• Proficient in handling EVDs, lumbar drains, and arterial lines.
• Current certifications in CPR (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Ability to navigate basic functions in web-based applications is essential.
• Interest in a rotating schedule that includes day and night shifts, with every other weekend required.
