Must-Have:
Candidates must pass Relias EKG exam.
Experience in managing patients with ischemic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring, and neurotrauma is essential.
Description:
The position is within a Neuro ICU that focuses on various patient diagnoses.
Common patient conditions include ischemic strokes post-thrombectomy, neuromuscular disorders, and CNS infections.
The unit primarily manages vasoactive medications, central and arterial line management, and ICP monitoring.
Specialized skills required include managing external ventricular drains and high-flow nasal cannula.
Knowledge of CRRT and managing hypothermia/hyperthermia is necessary.
Staff will complete 10 hours of stroke education during onboarding.
Teamwork is essential as interdisciplinary support is available from various services.
Staffing ratios in the unit are 1 RN to 2 patients.
Ability to float within the service line is expected based on facility needs.
All candidates must adhere to the compliance requirements related to scheduling and time off limitations.
