Key Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and comprehensive nursing care.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders.
Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures with the ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
