Travel Nurse RN - Neuro PCU - $2,272 per week in Morgantown, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours, 3 shifts per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Strong Neuro experience, history of caring for stroke patients and implementing NIHSS Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. This position focuses on higher acuity neuroscience patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for stepdown care. Experience with external ventricular drains (EVDs) is preferred. Candidates should have experience managing stroke patients as well as post TPA care. Titration of medications is done solely by physician orders. Common medications managed include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, and Insulin. There are nurse aides available for support during each shift. Respiratory therapy is accessible 24/7 for management of ventilators and other respiratory needs. Monitoring of telemetry is available, but nurses are not required to read strips. Flexibility in scheduling is needed, including weekends and holidays. Candidates should anticipate possible floating to other units as required. Scrub color for this position is royal blue.
