Travel Nurse RN - Neuro PCU - $2,308 per week in Morgantown, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Neuro Stepdown & EMU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong neuro experience, history of caring for stroke patients Description: The position is for a registered nurse in a Neuro Stepdown and EMU unit. The nurse will care for higher acuity neuroscience patients. Experience with EVD management is preferred, though permanent staff will mainly handle these patients. Patients may include those who have had strokes, seizures, or craniotomies. The nurse must have NIHSS certification in hand at the time of submission. Titration of drips is done by physician orders. Common medications managed include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin. Charge nurse support is available 24/7. Nurse aids are present on the unit with typical ratios of 1:8-9. Respiratory therapy support is available around the clock, but nurses are not required to have vent experience. Telemetry is on the unit, but nurses do not need to read strips. Shifts consist of three 12-hour nights. Nurses are expected to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Floating to other related units may occur. The dress code is royal blue scrubs. The unit uses the EPIC charting system. B.S.N. is not required for this position.
