Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• First to float, with possibility of floating to sister facility MGMC
• 28-bed Neuro unit (D4 Neuro)
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Charge nurse available with no patient assignment; Clinical Supervisor also present in a management role
• PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per every 16 patients
• Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
• No ventilator management required
• No ICP monitoring
• No IV Team on unit
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
• Common diagnoses include neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and CVAs post TPA
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer via RELIAS (maximum 2 attempts)
• Pass/Fail exam on day 1 of orientation with emphasis on sterile field techniques
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within the past 6 months)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Trauma Level 1 facility
• Acute care setting

This is a Level 1 Trauma acute care facility offering comprehensive neurological services within a 28-bed dedicated Neuro unit. The facility provides around-the-clock support with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, along with hospitalist coverage both during the day and on call at night. The organization maintains high clinical standards, emphasizing proper sterile techniques and dysrhythmia interpretation skills to ensure exceptional patient care for complex neurological cases.
