Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Irving, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a hospital setting, ensuring family-centered care, and adhering to unit-specific procedures and policies. The assignment is for a 13-week period, with shifts scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Details
- Location: Irving, TX
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Type of Equipment: GE bedside monitors and beds (Giraffe and Panda warmers), Natus Neoblue phototherapy lights, Neomed and Medfusion feeding/medication pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech and CPNS
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Details: 12-hour night shifts
- Floating Policy: Floating to the Newborn Nursery as needed
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; 2+ years of hospital or specialty experience; experience caring for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation; experience with central lines; stabilization experience; attending deliveries; BLS certification; NRP certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech preferred
- Procedures Performed on Unit: Assist with line placement, assist with circumcision, assist with intubation
- Patient Experience: Family-centered care
- Dress Code:
- Scrubs: Royal Blue Medical City Healthcare Scrubs (purchased from Scrubs and Beyond)
- Nails: Clean and healthy, no nail polish, artificial nails, gel, or next gen
- Hair: Neat, no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer in lab settings
- Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible
- Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited
- Other: No perfumes or lotions
