Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
- Must have completed at least 1 travel nurse assignment
- Current Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- STABLE certification required
- Experience in Special Care Nursery / Level II nursery care required
- Delivery room experience required
- Charting system experience required
- Must be comfortable floating to postpartum for baby care assignments
- Prior charge nurse or preceptor experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in a Special Care Nursery setting
- Perform newborn assessments and monitor infants for changes in condition
- Support feeding, thermoregulation, phototherapy, IV therapy, and glucose management
- Assist with circumcision care and provide post-op site monitoring
- Deliver parent education on infant identification, cord care, discharge teaching, and car seat preparation
- Maintain isolation precautions and follow infection prevention best practices
- Administer IV antibiotics and support medication and vaccine administration as ordered
- Care for low birth weight infants, large-for-gestational-age infants, and newborns requiring additional observation
- Float to postpartum to assist with baby care assignments when needed
- Contribute to a collaborative, family-centered newborn care environment
