Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required
• Experience in Special Care Nursery / Level II nursery care
• Delivery room experience required
• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• Experience with electronic charting systems required
• Ability to provide two supervisory references
• Comfort working in a fast-paced neonatal environment
• Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct neonatal nursing care to infants in a Special Care Nursery setting
• Perform newborn assessments, ongoing monitoring, and clinical observation
• Support thermoregulation, infant identification, and safe discharge preparation
• Administer and manage IV antibiotics, IV starts, and maintenance of IV access
• Assist with phototherapy, metabolic screening, and other newborn care procedures
• Educate parents on car seat safety, cord care, circumcision care, and discharge teaching
• Monitor and support infants with hypoglycemia, low birth weight, large for gestational age, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Follow isolation precautions and maintain a safe, family-centered care environment
• Float to postpartum for baby care assignments when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote excellent outcomes for newborns and families
