This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to use your advanced NICU RN skills while working alongside an interdisciplinary care team supporting some of the most vulnerable patients in the region.

NICU RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Virginia license may be accepted if in hand before the required start timeline
• Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience, with full-time Level III NICU experience required
• Level IV NICU experience preferred
• BLS and NRP required
• Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required; pending certification may be accepted
• Epic experience required
• Strong experience with ventilators, iNO, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, IV drips, hemodynamic support, and post-op care
• Ability to perform neonatal assessments and support complex infant populations
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical nursing care to neonates and infants in a busy Level III NICU
• Monitor and manage critically ill newborns with complex medical and surgical needs
• Support respiratory care, IV management, medication calculations, and line care
• Assist with procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, chest tube placement, and umbilical line placement
• Care for patients requiring advanced therapies including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide
• Float within scope to related areas such as L&D, postpartum/newborn care, pediatrics, or PICU as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
