• Position: NICU Registered Nurse / Pediatric Float Pool RN
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Pediatric float pool with NICU coverage
• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Float Areas: NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, Acute Pediatrics, and occasionally L&D/Mother-Baby

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Prior NICU experience required; NICU/PICU float pool experience is highly preferred
• Comfort working with neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent populations
• Active Registered Nurse license; pending state license may be accepted if in hand before start
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
• Infant-Driven Feeding certification required or must be obtained as directed
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Ability to float within scope of practice and adapt quickly to changing patient needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care for neonates and pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
• Support intensive and intermediate NICU patients with respiratory, hemodynamic, and thermoregulation monitoring
• Assist with neonatal resuscitation and provide care for high-risk deliveries when needed
• Care for children with complex medical, surgical, and respiratory conditions in collaborative team settings
• Float to assigned pediatric units and quickly adjust to unit workflows and patient acuity
• Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to promote excellent outcomes
• Document accurately in Epic and follow all unit-specific practice and safety standards
• Provide compassionate, family-centered support during stressful and high-acuity situations
