Job Summary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in the area of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill newborns within a Level NICU setting. The role involves overseeing patient treatment, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality neonatal care.
Job Details
Position Description: Responsibilities include staffing a Level NICU unit with 34 beds, managing care for neonates including those as premature as 24 weeks gestation. The role involves working night shifts, with duties including administering insulin and dopamine drips, operating Drager 500 ventilators, and monitoring Phillips cardiac systems.
Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), willingness to submit license, 2 years of minimum experience, and the ability to work night shifts.
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with scheduling done in 6-week blocks posted 2 weeks prior.
Additional Information: The assignment involves working with a team that includes advanced practice providers, on-call neonatologists available 8 hours daily, and a complete support staff including RTs and pharmacy 24/7. Floating to Postpartum may be required as needed. The unit primarily cares for infants born at 24 weeks gestation, with no surgical services, cooling, or ECMO support.
Submission Requirements: License submission is required with willingness to wait; candidate must have at least two years of relevant neonatal ICU experience.
