Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Rotating shifts 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The position involves providing specialized care for critically ill neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. The role requires working on an alternating day and night schedule, supporting a variety of diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory issues, cardiac defects, feeding problems, and NICU-specific cases.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state, BLS certification, CPI certification; at least 2 years of neonatal ICU experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting systems (Meditech preferred), previous community hospital or NICU experience, familiarity with specialized procedures and equipment such as trach/vent management, PICCs/central lines, TPN/ILs, and neonatal care protocols.
• Certifications: BLS, CPI (Calm Every Storm online vendor accepted), ACLS (preferred), PALS (preferred), NRP (National Resuscitation Program).
• Patient Age Group: Neonates, infants, pediatrics.
• Patient Diagnoses: Prematurity, apnea of prematurity, respiratory distress, congenital cardiac conditions, feeding issues, NAS, iatrogenic NICU cases.
• Special Equipment and Procedures: Trach/vent management, PICC/CL line care, TPN/IL, inhalation therapies, feeding management, neonatal resuscitation, dysrhythmia interpretation, infection prevention, and ventilator management.
• Additional Information: The position involves floating within specialty and sister units as needed. The service supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and radiology. Flu vaccination is required; COVID-19 vaccination is not mandated.
