Job Summary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in a children's hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized care for high-risk neonatal patients in a Level II NICU with a Level IV designation. The position supports infants with a variety of diagnoses, including prematurity, respiratory issues, and surgical needs, with responsibilities centered on clinical interventions and family support.
Job Details
Position Description: SIMPLIFI CLINICAL INTERVIEWING. Minimum experience: 2 years of Level III-IV NICU. Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS, NRP, Washington state license. Skills required include respiratory support for vents (required); trachs (highly preferred, not required); g-tubes; NG/OG; NCPAP; UAC/UVC management; PICC lines; medication administration; care plans; discharge to home. Looking for candidates with a good attitude who are friendly.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, respiratory distress syndrome, high-risk deliveries and patients, feeders/growers, neonatal abstinence syndrome; preferred experience with surgical patients and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
EMR: EPIC
Floating: Float rotation may be required.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend; may have a few back-to-back weekends, but rare.
Shift Times: See schedule above.
Scrub Color: Any.
Notes: NICU is part of the Pediatric hospital attached to the adult hospital, with high-risk labor and delivery, private rooms in NICU, overflow of Level II nursery for feeders/growers.
