Job Details:

• PM position with every other weekend required
• Approximately 16 weekend shifts per contract
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Floating required to a stepdown NICU unit
• 3 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Required skills: NICU II and NICU III, telemetry unit monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia, phototherapy, breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
• Patient types include: neonates 29-34 weeks, neonates greater than 34 weeks, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, isolation precautions/PPE, neonatal sepsis, sepsis work up, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, starting and maintaining IVs, antibiotics/antivirals, anti-seizure medications, neonatal dosage calculations, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Additional skills include: developmental care, patient and family teaching, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Will most likely care for patients on CPAP, HFNC, RAM, and intermediate patients
• Scrub color required: Hunter Green

Facility:

This facility operates a NICU with 36 beds and a daily census of 29 patients across 28 rooms. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The facility provides care for neonatal patients with diagnoses such as respiratory distress syndrome and hyperbilirubinemia, and also maintains a stepdown NICU unit to support a full continuum of neonatal care.
