Job Summary: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in APPLE VALLEY, California. The role involves providing specialized care in a Level III NICU with approximately 190 births per month. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to hospital protocols to support neonatal patients and their families.

Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS), at least 2 years of neonatal intensive care experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the specialty. Must hold a valid license; a compact license must be in hand at submission.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting systems such as Epic, prior community hospital or NICU experience, and familiarity with high-acuity pediatric care.
Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum 36 hours per week, with every other weekend, possibly exceeding to meet unit needs. Must be available to work three out of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day).
Additional Information:
The NICU is Level III with a patient census of 14 beds.
Staff may float to adjacent units for neonatal patients, particularly to the Mother-Baby (MB) unit, if experienced.
The unit performs complex procedures including central line management, intubations, and specialized medication administration.
The hospitals interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
The unit primarily cares for premature neonates, patients with respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and other neonatal diagnoses.
Candidates must agree to the facilitys policy of working scheduled hours, including up to one call-off per two weeks, and provide two references from the past three years.
