NICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment – Lake Forest, Illinois

Travel NICU RN opportunity in Lake Forest, IL: Join a Level III/IV neonatal care team and provide high-quality nursing care to vulnerable newborns in a fast-paced, collaborative NICU and special care nursery setting.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of direct NICU nursing or special care nursery experience required
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; pending or emergency licenses are not accepted
• BSN required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Charting system experience required
• Strong clinical skills supporting neonates, infant feeding, and respiratory care preferred
• Must provide a completed skills checklist and two references during submission

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality neonatal nursing care in a specialized NICU environment
• Monitor infant status, assess changes in condition, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Support feeding plans, breastfeeding assistance, and management of expressed breast milk and gavage feedings
• Assist with oxygen delivery systems, bubble CPAP, surfactant therapy, and other common neonatal interventions
• Provide care for infants with central lines, UACs, and UVCs in accordance with unit standards
• Maintain infection prevention practices, including isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, family-centered outcomes
• Adapt to a busy hospital setting while maintaining excellent attention to detail and patient safety
