Job Details:
• Work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• 2 extra shifts required every 6 weeks
• 13-week assignment
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience
• Must have experience with ventilators and central lines
• Must work well with neonatal population and demonstrate strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently required
• NICU nurses routinely float to Mother-Baby or Labor & Delivery to care for newborns as a baby nurse/transition nurse
• Follow AWHONN/NANN guidelines for patient ratios: 3-4 continuous care, 2-3 intermediate care, 1-2 intensive care, 1 multi-system support care
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Dress code: Navy scrubs
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Pass/fail open book exam administered during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90% required
Facility:
This is a Level III high-risk facility featuring 11 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery rooms, 2 OB ED beds, 2 operating rooms, 23 postpartum rooms, and a 27-bed Level III NICU. The facility is staffed by OB/GYN, Family Practice, and Nurse Midwife practitioners, with access to OB Hospitalists, Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, Neonatology experts, and anesthesiology services available 24/7. The organization also provides neonatal transport services to support the surrounding community.
