Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Shift: Afternoon/Mids
Shift Time: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
Shift Length: 12 Hours
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
- Monitor and assess newborns requiring specialized care and intervention.
- Manage infants requiring respiratory support, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Provide care for infants experiencing:
- Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) management for opioid-exposed newborns
- Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)
- Blood sugar stabilization needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate and support families regarding newborn care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission).
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience.
- Level 1B NICU or higher experience required.
- Experience caring for:
- ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) babies
- TTN (Transient Tachypnea of Newborn) patients
- Blood sugar stabilization cases
- Babies requiring respiratory support
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
