Interim Nurse Manager – GI/EndoscopySeattle, WA 98101

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Nurse Manager to lead a busy GI/Endoscopy unit in Seattle, WA. This leadership role is ideal for a candidate with strong clinical expertise, prior management experience, and the ability to support a high-volume procedural team while maintaining operational excellence and staff engagement.
Position Details- Schedule: Monday – Friday (5x8-hour shifts)
- Flexibility: Ability to adjust schedule based on unit needs and urgent situations
- Contract Role: Interim Leadership Assignment
- Call/Weekend/Holiday: None required
Department Overview- Procedure Rooms:
- 4 GI procedure rooms
- 1 Gastric Lab
- 1 HRA Room
- Additional therapeutic GI unit (4 procedure rooms)
- Cases Per Day:
- Main Unit: 35–45 (up to 64)
- Therapeutic Unit: 15–25
- EMR Systems: Cerner & Provation (transitioning to Epic)
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the GI/Endoscopy unit
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and call-out coverage
- Monitor and approve timecards
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues related to staff, patients, equipment, and supplies
- Ensure patient safety and follow up on incident reports
- Support team performance, accountability, and morale
- Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with Epic system transition and workflow optimization
Common Procedures- EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
- Colonoscopy & Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
- ERCP & EUS (therapeutic procedures)
- Fluoroscopy-guided procedures
- Motility studies (esophageal/anorectal)
- 24-hour pH & Bravo testing
- FMT (Fecal Microbiota Transplant)
Requirements- Active RN License
- BLS (AHA) & ACLS (AHA) Certifications
- Minimum 2+ years of leadership experience
- Strong background in GI/Endoscopy (outpatient preferred)
- Experience with moderate sedation
- Prior Epic experience (required)
- Experience with EMR transitions/implementations (preferred)
