The oncology unit has 24 beds and a dedicated staff of 42.
On the day shift, staffing includes 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator, 4-6 RNs, and 2 Certified Nursing Assistants.
The night shift has similar staffing levels to ensure adequate patient care.
Patient ratios are typically 1:4 or 1:5, promoting a manageable workload.
Standard unit equipment is used along with an electronic medical record system for efficient documentation.
Candidates should be team players and willing to learn.
Preferred qualifications include Chemotherapy Certification.
Occasional procedures performed on the unit include pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis.
Staff members are required to work 6 weekend days per schedule.
Dress code requires navy and white for RNs and Galaxy Blue for CNAs.
