Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience License: Compact or Louisiana RN license preferred Certifications: BLS required; ACLS & ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred Must-Have: - Ability to work with adult and geriatric patient populations - Comfort with emergency team assignments as directed by unit manager - Willingness to float to similar or lower acuity floors if required - Availability for weekends every other week Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology for a night shift position. The unit will accommodate a daily census of approximately 14 patients across 16 rooms. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6. Chemotherapy and biotherapy administration are responsibilities assigned to certified nurses only. The patient population includes adults with various diagnoses such as breast cancer, lung cancer, and anemia, among others. Special procedures performed on the unit include general surgeries such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy. Physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services are available for interdisciplinary support. The facility requires the COVID-19 vaccine, with exemptions available for medical or religious reasons. Flu vaccination is also required under the same exemption guidelines.
